Financial Director Designate (FMCG) - Zambia

A multinational FMCG giant is seeking a Zambian national for an exciting career opportunity.  Initially the position will be based in Johannesburg, South Africa for training.  Thereafter placement in Zambia in the position of Financial Director will take place.    The ideal candidate will be in his/her early 30’s and easily mobile.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To support management decision making through the preparation, evaluation and interpretation of financial reports, forecasts and plans to meet management and statutory requirements.

KEY OUTPUTS

Manage the Finance team and optimise team performance

Provide Financial leadership

Drive commercial competency into all aspects of the business

Support line management in all finance matters

Ensure overall adherence to principles of corporate governance

Oversee and ensure effective financial processes and controls

Standardise financial systems

Ensure effective financial controls

Develop standard reporting processes to enable analysis and trending of KPI’s, etc.

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES

Strong management accounting bias

Strong people management skills

Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).

Ability to analyse and interpret financial reports and plans.

Team player with strong influencing ability and well developed interpersonal skills

Self-starter with high energy level

Conceptual and planning skills.

Excellent technical financial and accounting skills.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

CA (SA) or recognised equivalent

Five years financial management experience preferably in a high transaction volume environment.

Familiarity with financial systems.

Good attention to detail and administration skills

Good project management experience, ability to manage change.

Good interpersonal skills to build relationships with regions, suppliers, etc.

Strong customer service focus.

Proficient in MS Office
