Senior Credit Controller

Senior Credit Controller (R18k CTC/month) – Medical Aid & Retirement Fund

Purpose of the position:

The person in this position has to provide a clerical and administrative service for customers’ accounts in order to ensure sound and accurate financial procedures and limit bad debts, take responsibility for all aspects of the debtors’ function of the Division and support the Division’s day-today bookkeeping and accounting functions.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Grade 12
• Relevant certificate/Diploma in credit management with Credit 2 as minimum
• At least 5 years’ experience in a credit environment
• Retail knowledge is essential
• Proficiency in relevant software packages in a debtors’ environment
• Excel knowledge is essential
• General knowledge of accounting

 Key Outputs of the position:

• Management of accounts
• Minimising of outstanding arrears
• Liaising with internal and external customers
• Credit control administration
• Creation of new accounts on system
• Problem solving of accounts
• Daily/weekly reporting
• Preparation of journals with relevant sign-off
• Allocation of payments
• Follow-up of outstanding payments and queries
• Updating the customer information
• Credit vetting of all new applications in line with the credit policy within the relevant time frames
• Preparation of monthly reconciliations of customer accounts
• Preparation of relevant documentation for the handing over of customers
• Ensuring that monthly statements are accurate and sent out on time
• Liaising with Credit Manager
• Management of credit controllers and debtors’ staff
