Regional Accountant

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monthly Financial reporting
• Financial Year end reporting
• Annual budget
• Analytical and Management Information reporting
• Expense control and revenue maximisation
• Stock counts
• Capital expenditure and feasibility studies
• Internal Policy and Procedure control and risk management
• Staffing support and relief work during financial staff leave periods and succession recruitment periods or to expedite accounting recovery plans
• Assist with implementation of new procedures and test outcomes for understanding
• Project rollout support
• Facilitate SAP continuous business improvement requests and super user functionality

JOB REQUIREMENTS/ COMPETENCIES:

• Financial support function to the Regional EXCO, particularly in analytical analysis, compliance and risk monitoring
• Support the financial function of the Region and Regional Office to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Ensuring that standard financial practice and methodology are uniformly applied amongst the hospitals in the Region and Regional Office
• Promotion of operational efficiencies and effectiveness across the Region

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor of Accounting Degree or similar
• Flexible to travel at short notice to all business units and project sites in the North East Region
• Previous exposure as a Hospital Accountant or similar would be recommended
• Interested in developing computer based reporting models
• A high level of proficiency in Excel.
