Job Description:
Our client, a global mining house is seeking a Group ESG Manager to join their team in Dubai. The ideal incumbent will have extensive experience in ESG within the mining, Jewelry or Luxury Sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Lead on implementation of company's sustainability objectives, initiatives and KPIs and drive improvement in sustainability performance across the business.
- Evaluate the ESG requirements in each operational location in Colombia, Mozambique, Australia, Madagascar, and any other new location.
- Work along-with the operational team to implement the ESG requirements in each operating location.
- Monitor and report on sustainability/ESG performance and progress against the sustainability strategy to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure effective implementation of the group's ESG policies and standards.
- Monitor and audit ESG compliance across functions and projects globally, with particular focus on projects with international financing to ensure ongoing compliance with internal and external ESG requirements.
- Organize and/or support the organization’s Social, environmental and community specific initiatives across the globe, with a focus on educational initiatives and targets.
- Participate in external ESG networks and benchmark initiatives.
- Support implementation and training of relevant business functions in the use of the new ESG software.
- Routinely prepare ESG communications and present at internal and external meetings to promote and increase sustainability/ESG awareness.
- Take ownership, control and implement industry specific audit programs and initiatives (like Responsible Jewelry Council).
- Press communication (including drafting press release and communicating with media).
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role in the Luxury goods, Jewelry, or Mining sectors
- Degree qualified in an ESG-related subject
- Expert knowledge of ESG themes
- Background working under ISO standards
- Previous effective implementation of ESG policies and standards
- Strong working knowledge of ESG performance metrics and reporting standard
- Must be comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment
