Job Description:


The client is a global leading supplier in equipment and tools, services and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries. The candidate will be required to align the operator and technical departments to the business and stakeholder strategies, market the business and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the client has the operator and technical competencies to increase market footprint.  The candidate will ensure that operator and technical programmes are compliant to legislative requirements, accredited with the relevant authorities and provide a competitive advantage for the business. Further, that the company achieves maximum operational efficiencies and effectiveness in the execution of the operator and technical programmes.


 


Responsibilities:


  • Alignment of business strategy and stakeholder strategies to understand skills programmes and competencies required in order to be competitive in the market.
  • Development and execution of operational plan
  • Monitoring of competency metrics and return of investment
  • Managing compliance of the operator and technical programmes through the accreditation processes and ensuring compliance to safety regulations, legislation and internal standards and procedures.
  • Development and execution of skills matrix
  • Evaluate & manage development of learning curriculum, materials & programmes
  • Internal and External Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with external customer on offerings and identity white spots for opportunities
  • Produce rolling forecast, budget & weekly targets
  • Financial and budgetary Reviews & reports
  • Manage invoicing and profit margins
  • Effective people management of the Operator and Technical Department


 


Requirements: Qualification and Skill


  • Minimum National Diploma in Training & Development (NQF Level 6), with:
  • Trade certificate would be advantageous 
  • Certificate of Competence as OD ETDP or related qualification as an Adult Education Facilitator
  • Certificate of Competence as Moderator with specific focus in Operator/Technical/Mechanical Sector
  • Certificate of Competence as an Assessor with specific focus in Operator/Technical/Mechanical Sector
  • Computer Literacy Certificate of Competence in Management/Supervisory
  • Principles/Practices
  • Business English Language Proficiency
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in a competency development academy or similar, with proven understanding of SAQA, NQF, Skills Development Act & Skills Levy Act
  • Experience as an Operator or Technical Training Facilitator
  • Experience in Moderating/Assessing Competence
  • Experience in System and Process Design
  • Experience in Maintenance Systems and Philosophy
  • Experience in Underground and Surface Mining & Construction Environment
  • Problem Solving
  • Communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Conflict Management
  • Planning, Organizing and Delegating
  • Financial Management Skills
  • Stakeholder Management

  • Talent Management
  • Physical and medical ability to function in an underground mining environment, must be fully vaccinated
